Friday I took the raw water pump apart and replaced the shaft water seal. Yep the same one I just put the impeller in. Needed snap ring pliers which I didn’t have so I managed with my pocket knife and a screwdriver. Also needed to remove the pump from the engine block but the wrench I needed was buried in the aft cabin. Managed to get the seal housing out using a screwdriver and a crescent wrench for a hammer. Drove it back in using a 3/8″ socket extension and a crescent wrench for a hammer. Miracles do happen! The pump works great and not leaks. There is something to be said for shade tree mechanics.
